Ideal candidates for taking this course are:   Designers, Drafts persons, Inspectors, Site Supervisors, Construction Managers, Warranty Representatives and Technicians, Trades, Suppliers, Support Staff, Customer Service Representatives and Management. 

This course is required for the following certifications:  Residential Construction Site Manager (RCSM), and is an elective course for Residential Management and Master Home Builder.

Online course with bonus webinar sessions -  21 hours in length

The Building Science online course with bonus webinar sessions is comprised of two major components - an online course supplemented with 4 one-hour live instructor led webinars with industry subject matter expert, Darrell Paul.  

The additional live webinars will provide you with a platform to meet an expert in the industry.  Our instructor, Darrell Paul, will augment the online content with 4 webinars sharing his experience over the past 40 years in building science and addressing participants questions on the course material. If participants are unable to make one of the webinar sessions, a recording of the session will be made available to review so that you don't fall behind.

Webinar dates:  4 sessions held on Thursday evenings on March 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2020.

Duration:  60 minutes

  • 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm MST (instructor led webinar)
  • 7:45 pm - 8:00 pm MST (15-minute question and answer session)

Access to the online course:  You will be granted access to the online course on February 3, 2020 for this virtual delivery.

Access to the webinars:  Instructions on how to access the webinars will be emailed to you one week prior to the session.

Pre-webinar course work:  Participants will have 3 - 3.5 hours of online course work each week in addition to the webinar sessions as part of the training. The access to the online portion is always available for you.  It is designed for you to self-learn the course material at your own learning pace.

Exam:  An online proctored exam will be booked at the participant's convenience. We strongly recommend booking the proctored exam within one week of completion of the last webinar session.

Exam & passing grade:  The exam for this course is closed book. The passing grade is 70% to qualify for PHBI certification.

Prerequisites:  For those new to the industry, it is strongly recommended that Construction Fundamentals be completed prior to taking this course.
