Construction Fundamentals (RCSM - Level 1)

This course replaces (Introduction to Residential Construction Site Manager Program (RCSM ) Level 1, Introduction to Master Home Renovator and Construction Fundamentals)

This introductory online course provides an overview of the processes, materials, systems and methods used in constructing residential homes and touches on major aspects of managing the residential construction process including pre-construction preparation, professionalism, safety, project management, administration, documentation and construction knowledge. Explore the relationships between various phases of construction; examine standard documents and processes that govern construction practices and develop a sound understanding of key considerations at each phase - including safety.

Ideal candidates for taking this course are:   Designers, Drafts persons, Inspectors, Technicians, Site Supervisors, Construction Managers, Warranty Representatives and Technicians, Estimators, Trades, Suppliers, Support Staff, Purchasing Agents, Customer Service Representatives, Management and Sales Professionals. 

This course is required for the following certifications:  Master Home Renovator and Professional Site Manager and is an elective course for Residential Management, and Master Home Builder. 

Delivery method:  This is an online course only. It involves approximately 21 hours of online learning with no classroom time.

Exam & passing grade:  The exam for this course is closed book. The passing grade is 70%. 

Prerequisites:  There are no prerequisites for this course.

Tuition:  General Academic Training $1000 + tax, Occupational Designation Training $1500 + tax*
