Construction Technology 2

Explore building science as it applies to the control of moisture in residential construction. This online course provides an introduction to building science and its importance to constructing effective building envelopes, preventing water damage and building durable homes. Upon completion of the online course, students enrol in the Moisture Control Certificate course delivered by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).  Participants need to successfully complete both SAIT's Moisture Control course and PHBI's online Construction Technology 2 course in order to receive the certificate of completion for Construction Technology 2.

Ideal candidates for taking this course are:   Designers, Drafts persons, Inspectors, Site Supervisors, Construction Managers, Warranty Representatives and Technicians, Trades, Suppliers, Support Staff, Customer Service Representatives and Management. 

This course is required for the following certifications:  Residential Construction Site Manager (RCSM) and Master Home Renovator is an electivel course for Residential Management and Master Home Builder. 

Delivery method:  This is an online course only. It involves approximately four hours of online learning with no classroom time.

Exam & passing grade:  The exam for this course is closed book. The passing grade is 70% and 100% attendance when taking the classroom delivery option is compulsory to qualify for PHBI certification.

Prerequisites:  There are no prerequisites for this course.
