Problem Solving in Home Building
Learn advanced problem-solving techniques and apply them to residential construction case studies. The online portion of this course covers problem solving theory and techniques; applying those techniques to real-world scenarios is the focus in the classroom.

Ideal candidates for taking this course are: Inspectors, Technicians, On-site staff, Trades, Suppliers, Site Managers, Designers, Drafts persons, Customer Service Representatives, Estimators, Construction Managers, Warranty Representatives and Technicians, , Purchasing Agents and Management.
This course is required for the following certifications: Residential Construction Site Manager (RCSM), Professional Site Manager and is an elective course for Residential Management, and Master Home Builder.
Delivery method: This blended learning course combines approximately four hours of online learning with two days of classroom learning.
Course times: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Classroom locations: This course is delivered by PHBI in Calgary and Edmonton. Courses can also be held in other centers based on demand.
Exam & passing grade: The exam for this course is closed book. The passing grade is 70% and 100% attendance is compulsory to qualify for PHBI certification.
Prerequisites: For those new to the industry, Construction Fundamentals or Residential Construction Site Management (RCSM) Level 1, Construction Technology 1 and Construction Technology 2 together with the Moisture Control Technican course must be taken prior to enrolment in this class. Participants also need to have an understanding of the Building Code.
